SURABAYA – The Student Representative Council (MPM) held the Secretariat and Treasury Socialization event, commonly known as SOSEKBEN, on Friday, September 19, 2025. This agenda was carried out as a strategic step to equip functionaries of Student Bodies (LK), Student Activity Units (UKM), and general students involved in ad-hoc committees. The main focus of this activity was to provide an in-depth understanding of document preparation and campus bureaucratic processes, from the initial stage of proposal submission to the final stage of the Accountability Report (LPJ). This event was deemed crucial given that administrative discipline serves as the backbone of accountability for every organization and committee within the Student Body (KBM). This year, SOSEKBEN was attended by 168 participants who showed high enthusiasm for improving their organizational governance. MPM invited speakers from the Materials division committee and the Bureau of Student Affairs and Alumni (BAKA). This collaboration of speakers ensured that the information delivered was aligned between university policies and technical implementation in the field, considering that the presenters and MPM members themselves had received direct training from BAKA beforehand. The series of events began with a theoretical presentation session on the rules and procedures for secretariat operations, treasury management, and the submission mechanism for Student Activity Credit Units (SKKK). Participants were divided into groups according to their chosen specialization: the secretariat class or the treasury class. In this session, participants were grouped according to their respective work programs for direct implementation. The presenters emphasized the importance of data accuracy and timeliness in every bureaucratic process, so that administrative obstacles would not hinder the execution of planned work programs. After the theoretical presentation, the activity continued with an interactive Q&A session to clarify various administrative issues frequently encountered by officers in previous periods. To ensure a thorough understanding, this year's SOSEKBEN did not stop at theory but continued with training in the form of small classes with their respective groups. They were guided to precisely compile vital documents, from Proposal formats, Budget Plans - Budget Item Recapitulations (RA-RMA), LPJ, to other supporting documents such as Memorandums of Understanding (MoU), Terms of Reference (ToR), and Temporary Receipts (Bonsem). These small class trainings were intensively accompanied by the materials division committee, legislative body members, and BAKA representatives. This approach aimed to ensure that every participant did not merely know the document templates but understood the essence behind every document submitted as a form of professional accountability. With this integrated socialization and training, MPM hopes that all participants will have uniform and professional administrative standards, so that student organization dynamics can run more effectively without being hindered by bureaucratic obstacles in the future.
